“What is a solar bulk purchase?A bulk purchase is when a group of neighbors work with Community Power Network (CPN) to install solar electric (photovoltaic (PV)) systems together. By going solar as a group, each participant can save 20% or more off the cost of their system. Essentially, the group discount is the same principle as buying in bulk at Costco.”

Visit to the Virginia Center for Wind Energy
Last month, I made a road trip to the Virginia Center for Wind Energy at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and toured their Small Wind Training & Test Facility (known as SWTTF). Definitely worth the trip! The day I picked turned out to be a beautiful clear, crisp autumn day — perfect for an escape from urban Fairfax County to the picturesque Virginia countryside.
