Last month, I made a road trip to the Virginia Center for Wind Energy at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and toured their Small Wind Training & Test Facility (known as SWTTF). Definitely worth the trip! The day I picked turned out to be a beautiful clear, crisp autumn day — perfect for an escape from urban Fairfax County to the picturesque Virginia countryside.

A summary of my visit is attached below (PDF file) along with a couple of snapshots for anyone with an interest in wind energy, particularly if you reside in the Commonwealth of Virginia. VCWE is the place to start if you want to find out how to develop and implement a renewable energy system for your home or business. Their web site has a lot of great information and I highly recommend visiting it to find out more.
